Before taking off for the holidays, Transporter Room 3's Scott Collura and Phil Pirrello dive into "The Naked Now," the first-season craptacular TNG episode that involves Data, a lubed up Tasha Yar and, apparently, a bunch of amateurs manning the flagship of the fleet. Man, get these guys some collars on their uniforms, STAT!

"I'm telling you Data, chicks love this."

We also read a couple of choice Listener Mailbags, leading to a discussion about the "Uncle Tom Effect" of the Federation. (No, not Uncle Tom Paris.) Plus, our latest, most tragic-est Red Shirt of the Week faces his fate like the dimwit that he is. Oh, and Scott got the chance to talk briefly with General Chang himself, Christopher Plummer, and we've got the data tapes to prove it...

This week, our sensors detected a lot of nerd-worthy updates for J.J. Abrams' Star Trek 2, and of course, we scrutinize the hell out of 'em!

Transporter Room 3's Scott Collura and Phil Pirrello take a look at Peter Weller's role in the mucho-anticipated sequel, geeking out about how excited we are to have RoboCop back in the Trek mix, and then turn our attention to Benicio Del Toro not playing the super-secret (cough) villain. (It's Khan. Try not to faint.) Can the sequel afford to lose a big name like Oscar-winner Del Toro? All that and more gets debated in what promises to be the most intense auditory experience you will ever have this side of the Alpha Quadrant.

And Voyager fans? This TR3 is for you, as we finally do the talky thing about an episode of the fourth Trek series. Our selection? "The Omega Directive." It's not the worst thing we've seen, but it's also not as good as we remember it being. Oh, and another Red Shirt is remembered -- because someone's gotta -- and the bar on our particular brand of crass humor is raised. Or lowered, depending on your quality of life.

So give Ensign Kim the conn, put on your best off-duty shiny shirt (Riker style!) and settle in for Episode 9. (We promise it's better than Insurrection!)

The Transporter Room 3 podcast returns from a wee bout of Thanksgiving shore leave! Hosts and surprisingly non-virgins Scott Collura and Phil Pirrello discuss the filibuster-worthy topic of 3D or not 3D. (And yes, we do so while spinning around in our command chairs, General Chang-style!)

But the main event -- Starfleet's Biggest Douchebags -- bumps our usual discussion of a Trek episode in favor of verbally kick-punching the Federation's impressive D-Bag contingent. Assbutts like Star Trek III's mini-cane-carrying Captain Styles, TNG's Data-dissecting Cmdr. Maddox and Voyager's crazy Captain Ransom get served like food cubes in the Enterprise's mess hall. (And yes, we know we're missing any talk about that latest Khan news, or the casting of Lt. McCleavage Alice Eve, but we just seem to have the bad luck of recording right before news breaks. We'll try harder next week!)
