As Turkey Day promises to stuff our food holes with goodness and grant us the power of napping at will, Scott and Phil submit five Original Series shows you need to watch in between slices of Mom's pumpkin pie.

These are episodes you're probably not as familiar with as some of the more classic Treks, but you should be -- these five eps are damn good television. See McCoy's ill-fated love affair almost "suck" the life out of him! Watch Kirk Wall-Fu an alien assassin! And witness the questionable fashion choices of our poor Red Shirt of the Week! This poor SOB hails from one of our binge-a-thon episodes. Who is he? Hint: He died wearing the most plastic vest ever!

Episode 67: Star Trek Generations' 20th Anniversary: Does It Still Hold Up?

November 18, 1994. Two captains. One destiny.

This week, Phil and Scott celebrate the anniversary of the first Trek film featuring the Next Gen cast -- Picard and Kirk finally united on horseback! -- and share when and where we were on opening day.

We also discuss which parts of the film work (that opening scene) and which parts we wish worked better (Kirk's death, Geordi going topless). Lots of ol' fashioned nerd-alysis ensues.

And we're paid a visit from a Generations redshirt who went up in a blaze of mid-size budget glory!

What's your favorite moment from the seventh Trek feature? Sound off in the comments below. And take the conversation to TR3 on Facebook and Twitter! (Don't forget to give us some love on iTunes.)

Episode 66: “Defiant”: The Tragedy of Tom Riker

It's all about the sad fate of Thomas Riker this week as we delve into the Deep Space Nine classic, "Defiant"!

Or would you rather we beam down to discuss one of our favorite hours of Trek… "Pen Pals"?

*record screech*

riker

O.K., "Defiant" it is -- DS9's first (and sadly, only) brush with Thomas Riker as he steals one "tough little ship" to help the Maquis level-up their terrorism game. Why do we heart this ep so much? Listen and find out!

Our Red Shirt of the Week also hails from DS9. This bald, blue-tunic wearing target picked the wrong day to sign up for Jem'Hadar detail -- can you guess who it is?

So crank up your Winamps and tear off your fake beards, it's time for a new ep of TR3!

We’re back from our voyage to NYC to see the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation and William Shatner!

tng-cast

Phil traveled 3,000 miles -- in coach -- to see them, but was it worth the trip? Listen and find out!

Plus, wanna know what special features are on the TNG Season 7 Blu-rays? We got you covered. And for those of you who fed money to our T-shirt campaign, you might wanna grab a box of tissues and turn up the Sarah McLachlan -- because we got a special message that will hit you in all the feels.

And our Red Shirt of the Week won't be feeling anything, however, thanks to that weapons blast he took to the soul in “Gambit, Part I.”

Episode 64: The Worst of TNG Season 7

Having sex with space ghosts. Discovering long-lost siblings. Masaka!

Transporter Room 3, Episode 64

Yep, it's time for Transporter Room 3 to take the final season of Star Trek: The Next Generation to task. With recent news that Season 7 is finally coming to Blu-ray this winter, Scott and Phil revisit the lowest points of one of TNG's most uneven seasons.

530-picard-yikes

From "Sub Rosa" (cringe) to "Masks" (double cringe), you won't want to miss our spot-on (read: snarky) analysis of these craptastic episodes.

We also debate the pros and "Khans" (I regret nothing!) about the rumored return of William Shatner as James T. Kirk in Roberto Orci's Star Trek 3.

And no ep of TR3 would be complete without a funeral for another Red Shirt. Who gets the torpedo tube this week? Listen now and find out!

Become a Red Shirt of the Week!

Now, finally, here's your chance to support the Star Trek podcast with the mostest!

Yes, we are now whoring ourselves out: You can buy a Transporter Room 3 T-shirt to help us keep the podcast going. And in the process, you can become a Red Shirt of the Week too!

Picking up one of our unique TR3 shirts does not guarantee you'll survive your next landing party... in fact, it pretty much guarantees the opposite. But at least you'll go out in style.

The sale of these shirts operates through Teespring, which collects the pre-orders on the shirts. You aren't charged and the shirts don't ship until we hit a target goal of a specific amount of pre-orders, which means if you really want one of these shirts, you should convince your friends/loved ones/Tribbles to buy one/100/infinity too. The proceeds from the shirts will help to support the podcast's basic operational costs.

So, you know, make it so...
