Episode 187: Michael Chabon Breaks Down the Picard Season Finale’s Big Twists

Star Trek: Picard's first season finale ended with one hell of a twist -- a couple of them, actually -- calling back to things in two other Patrick Stewart movies: X3 and Star Trek: Nemesis!

We’re not sure if that's a good thing or what, but we unpack the episode with help from our good pal from TrekCore.com, Ken Reilly.

And then Picard showrunner Michael Chabon himself beams in to discuss the finale and the season overall for a post-mort interview! And we also have some Altan Soong-centric Reader Mail this week, and another Red Shirt -- one of our highest ranking ever.

So replicate a cup of decaf Earl Grey, curl up with Spot 2 and listen to the new TR3 now!

Episode 185: Picard Ep. 8 - The Borg vs. The Smiths

Seven of Nine returns, lots of plot questions are answered, the EHs have a hang with Raffi, and Jean-Luc… doesn’t have much of anything to do. All that and more in the latest episode of Star Trek: Picard!

With Phil still away on Risa, special guest host Matt Fowler -- yes, THE Matt Fowler -- takes Phil’s left-of-center seat for the week, bringing his casual, normal person’s amount of Star Trek knowledge to Transporter Room 3!

We dig into this week’s episode of Picard, hit the Reader Mailbag for a potential Star Trek: First Contact connection to the show, ponder the eternal struggle between the Borg and the Smiths, and, of course, pay tribute to our Red Shirt(s) of the Week. There are a lot of them this week.

So plug in your Borg Queen spinal tubes, shout “Locutus” to the first person you see walking past you, and listen to the latest episode of TR3!

Episode 184: Picard Ep. 7 - The Riker/Troi/Hugh Hour!

Man, Star Trek: Picard just nailed it in Episode 7, “Nepenthe,” the episode that reunites Jean-Luc with Will Riker and Deanna Troi, and also unites two characters who were previously strangers to one another -- Hugh and Elnor!

This episode of Transporter Room 3 is posting the same day that Phil is getting married -- while naked, of course, in Ten Forward! -- so special guest host Dr. Arnold T. Blumberg beams in to fill (phil?) in for Phil! We discuss why Arnold loves Picard but really couldn’t get into Discovery before diving in to the return of some of our favorite Next Generation characters.

And Hugh actor Jonathan Del Arco enters the queencell and uses the Sikarian spatial trajector to visit TR3 for a chat about his beloved character and the big, big moments for him in “Nepenthe.”

Of course, we’ve also got Reader Mail and a bunch of Red Shirts as well, so light up the Riker pizza oven, practice your Viverna language skills, and listen to the latest episode of Transporter Room 3 now!

“The Impossible Box” also reunites Hugh with his liberator, finally gives us some interesting Soji/Narek stuff to chew on, and also offers fans lots of Star Trek: First Contact nostalgia. But is the episode any good?

That answer, more Reader Mail and a few Red Shirts from Bozeman, Montana, are in this week’s episode. So take off your shoes, turn on your Borg implants, and listen now to the newest TR3!

This week, we review "Absolute Candor" with nothing less than what the episode's title promises. More Reader Mailbag is in store as well, as we try to figure out why Synths are bad but EMHs are good. And, obviously, another Red Shirt beams down. (Don't lose your heads over it -- pun extremely intended).

So put down your paper books, turn on your Emergency Hospitality Hologram, and listen now to Transporter Room 3's newest ep.

Episode 180: Picard Ep. 3 Brings Back Hugh, EMHs… and ‘Engage’

"The End Is the Beginning" is a fitting title for Star Trek: Picard's third episode, as it starts with Picard's Starfleet resignation and ends with his first deep space mission in 14 years.

There's a lot of spinning plates here -- the secret history of the Borg Collective, the two Romulan siblings who only speak in bad '90s action movie villain-ese, and Picard's new Firefly-type crew. So what did we think? Listen and find out!

We also have some reader mailbag that asks a BIG question regarding the rogue androids and, of course, there's a Red Shirt. Well, what's left of him.

So take a hit off Raffi's vape, get comfy, and listen now to TR3!
